DUFOURSPITZE/MONTE ROSA (4634m)
Switzerland highest mountain and the second peak of the Alps is located in Monte Rosa massif. A serious alpine adventure that takes at least 3 days. The summit approach from Monte Rosa Hut takes ca. 12 hours door-to-door. On the way up, there are several attractions such as glacier, steep snow flanks, exposed ridge with technical difficulties. This aim demands good shape and previous experience with steep and exposed terrain.
The very stay in Monte Rosa refuge is an added value. This is one of the friendliest alpine refuges. Its futuristic shape, ecological self-sustainability is impressive – with 90% of energy coming from sun batteries, it recuperates heath and filters water from glacier.
Duration of summit ascent: 3 days (with 2 overnights in the refuge)
Duration of the programme: 5 days, composed of 2 days of acclimatization with an overnight in a refuge placed above 3000 m and 3 days of summit ascent in which 2 overnight in Monte Rosa Hut. While acclimatizing – we climb one of the fourthousand peaks in Monte Rosa massif.
